We love to develop and manufacture unique products for our customers. Our workshop is equipped with the necessary machining tools and we can bring over 20 years of experience in the astronomy business to the table. Whether you have a finalized design with complete drawings, just a few sketches, or even just a rough idea of what capability the product should provide you with, together we can turn your idea into reality.

Custom-made products from Nienna

• We can manufacture products primarily made from aluminium or stainless steel. Other materials such as plastic or wood are available as well.
• There are no setup costs, i.e. you do not need to pay a fixed amount just to get us started. You only pay for machining time and materials. If you need help in designing the product we only begin charging you after you have received and accepted an offer with estimated cost and timeframe.
• It is perfectly possible to produce one-off items. With us you don't need to order an entire batch!
• You get as much or as little guidance as you wish. We will use our experience of many decades in the astronomy trade to check your design and make suggestions.
• A custom-made product does not have to be expensive! Please don't hesitate to get in touch!
• We love to work on small products which many large mechanical workshops tend to reject.

This is how it works

A project starts off by discussing your ideas and requirements. Just drop us a few lines or ring us to present what it is you want us to do. After this point there is no reason to stick to a one-size-fits-all procedure. Instead we will choose a plan for the project which suits your particular needs. As a rough outline, the following steps are quite common:

If you already know what you need and have a complete drawing:

1. Send us your drawings and explanations of what you want the product to do.
2. If you wish we can sign a non-disclosure agreement.
3. We check the drawings and discuss possible changes with you.
4. You get a cost estimate and a rough delivery time line.
5. You can choose to place the order and will get the item as soon as possible.

If you only have a rough sketch or just an idea of what you want the product to do:

1. You let us know your thoughts and ideas as well as any sketches you might have. In particular you describe what equipment you have and what capabilities the custom product should provide for you.
2. We guide you through the development process. You get to give as much or as little input as you want. In the end you will get a suggestion that fits your specific requirements, even if you do not have any technical knowledge yourself.
3. You get a cost estimate and a rough delivery time line.
4. You can choose to place the order and will get the item as soon as possible.
